Program Educational Objectives

1. To meet the physical, psychological, and social care needs of individuals requiring home care, including older adults, individuals with chronic illnesses, persons with disabilities, postoperative patients, and individuals receiving end-of-life care.

2. To promote a safe, comfortable, and supportive living environment for patients and their families within the home setting.

3. To monitor individuals' health status and provide preventive, therapeutic, and supportive care services through a holistic approach.

4. To develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at improving patients' quality of life.

5. To adopt person-centered care practices based on ethical principles and respect for human dignity throughout the care process.

6. To equip students with the professional knowledge and practical skills required for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of home healthcare services.

7. To develop competencies in problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making within home care practice.

8. To prepare graduates who value interdisciplinary collaboration, work effectively as members of healthcare teams, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

9. To provide patient-centered care that respects patient rights while adhering to professional responsibility and ethical values.

10. To promote lifelong professional development by encouraging graduates to follow current knowledge, evidence-based practices, innovative methods, and emerging technologies in home patient care.

Program Goals

The Home Patient Care Program aims to educate qualified Home Patient Care Technicians who are capable of assessing patients' needs, improving their quality of life, providing assistance with activities of daily living, organizing and maintaining a safe patient care environment, promoting patient comfort, administering medications within the scope of their professional responsibilities, and performing basic first aid when required.
