What Is Disability Care and Rehabilitation?
A Disability Care Technician is defined as a professional who, by applying the knowledge and techniques acquired through disability care education, supports individuals with disabilities and those in need of care in maintaining their quality of life, alleviating concerns about the future, making productive use of their free time, and developing and maintaining habits that promote awareness and protection of their own bodies and living environments.
"Health is not merely the absence of disease or disability; it is also a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being." According to the Law on Persons with Disabilities, a person with a disability is defined as an individual who, due to congenital or acquired loss of physical, mental, psychological, sensory, or social abilities to varying degrees, experiences difficulties in adapting to social life and meeting daily needs, and therefore requires protection, care, rehabilitation, counseling, and support services.

What Are the Responsibilities of Disability Care and Rehabilitation Program Graduates?
- Prepare work plans.
- Identify the habits and routines of individuals with disabilities.
- Assist in resolving communication-related difficulties experienced by individuals with disabilities.
- Ensure the cleanliness and availability of equipment and supplies.
- Inform the physician responsible for the individual with a disability and provide guidance to family members.
- Ensure the provision of medications and necessary supplies.
- Maintain the order and cleanliness of the individual's room.
- Provide the individual with the materials needed to meet daily needs.
- Perform general personal care.
- Assist with exercises recommended by healthcare professionals and provide massage when appropriate.
- Assist the individual with dressing and undressing.
- Make the individual's bed.
- Ensure the individual's nutritional needs are met.
- Take necessary precautions for personal health and occupational safety.

Graduates may find employment in medical centers and outpatient clinics providing primary healthcare services, hospitals, physical therapy and rehabilitation units, nursing homes, care centers, daycare centers, infirmaries of various institutions, and the homes of individuals with disabilities.
