He is the founder of the field of maxillofacial prosthetics in Turkey. He is one of the pioneers of the science of dental prosthetics. He also served as dean of the School of Dentistry. In addition, he was a researcher in the history of medicine, an educational reformer, and a painter. In 1943, he enrolled in the School of Dentistry at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Medicine. Drawing on his sharp memory and extensive pre-medical experience, he compiled his knowledge of dentistry and dental education from 1932 to 1990 into a book titled “History of Turkish Dentistry.”
Together with Prof. Dr. Feyzullah Değer, he established maxillofacial prosthetics as an independent discipline. He played a role in making it the first specialty in dentistry, alongside orthodontics. In this field, he trained the first specialists and faculty members in Turkey. He served as dean of the ÇAPA School of Dentistry from 1984 to 1987. He systematized his exceptional skills in prosthodontic clinical and laboratory practice. In addition to his professional work, he was also engaged in painting and sculpture.
