The ‘II. National Young Academics’ Conference was held in collaboration with Ukraine Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatyuk National Pedagogical University, Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, and RİNAP. The event, which attracted great interest with international participation, opened current issues of history science for discussion with the theme “Current Issues of History Science and Education in the Works of Young Researchers”.

On the conference organizing committee, in addition to Prof. Dr. İryna Zadorozhna and Prof. Dr. Ella Bystrytska from Ternopil University, Prof. Dr. İlham Miraç, a board member of Üsküdar University RİNAP, also took part.

The opening speeches were delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Erhan Bektaş, Head of Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of History, and Prof. Dr. İlham Miraç. Dr. Erhan Bektaş emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration, stating that such events not only foster knowledge sharing but also support friendships between countries and the academic development of young researchers. Simultaneously, the projects of Üsküdar University students were also highlighted.

Students Talked About Their Projects

Merve Nur Othman presented her work titled “Mapping the Routes of English Travelers Coming to the Ottoman Empire in the 16th Century,” which she prepared with her advisor, Assistant Professor Dr. Uygar Aydemir, within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A project.

Yağız Baştürk introduced his project titled “Digital Mapping of Naqshbandi and Khalidiye Tekkes,” which he carried out under the supervision of Lecturer Fatma Aladağ. He also mentioned his project "Bediüzzaman Said Nursi Digital History of Life," which he conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. İlham Miraç.

Students Had the Opportunity to Share Their Academic Work on an International Platform

Within the scope of the conference, young researchers had the opportunity to share their academic work on an international platform.

The joint organization of events by countries rich in historical heritage, such as Ukraine and Turkey, contributed to the strengthening of academic ties and the increase of cultural solidarity. The conference became a meeting point where innovative ideas in history science and education were presented. Participants also exchanged ideas on future cooperation projects and new research topics.
