Project and Grant Management Training for Young Doctors of the Earth

Within the scope of the management camp organized by the Young Doctors of the Earth Association, Dr. Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy and Social Contribution Coordinator, gave a training on Project Processes and Grant Acquisition Management. The training, held at Kocaeli Kefken Youth Camp, received great interest from young people.

The Management Camp, organized by the Young Doctors of the Earth Association to enhance the competencies of young people in the field of humanitarian aid, was held at Kocaeli Kefken Youth Camp. 

Within the scope of the camp program, Dr. Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy and Social Contribution Coordinator, gave a training titled Project Processes and Grant Acquisition Management. The training aimed to strengthen young people's capacities in project development, crisis management, and access to funding sources.

A Scientific Perspective on Project Culture and Fund Management

During the training, scientifically-based methods for the proper planning, effective implementation, and ensuring the sustainability of projects that generate social benefit were discussed. Young members of the Young Doctors of the Earth gained comprehensive knowledge about generating social benefit, project development with a social entrepreneurship approach, sustainability principles, and ways to access national and international funding mechanisms.

Participants, as part of the training, received comprehensive information on the following topics:

-    Needs analysis

-    Logical framework approach

-    Target audience and stakeholder management

-    Field implementation design

-    Monitoring and evaluation processes

-    Sustainability and visibility strategies

-    And effective use of national and international grant resources, thereby gaining practical and in-depth knowledge on these topics.

Dr. Nebiye Yaşar: “Scientific Method Gives Wings to Idealism”

Speaking at the training, Dr. Nebiye Yaşar emphasized that young people should possess not only technical knowledge but also social sensitivity and a scientific perspective in their project development processes. Yaşar stated; “When we combine the idealism of young people with the scientific method, not only projects but also powerful models that create transformation in society emerge. The seed of goodness sprouting in the hearts of young people gains the power to transform a society through well-managed projects. The scientific method gives wings to idealism, and proper planning is the roadmap of compassion.”

Future Humanitarian Aid Leaders Are Being Trained

Young people gathered at Kocaeli Kefken Youth Camp had the opportunity to develop projects in areas such as disaster management, humanitarian aid efforts in crisis regions, child and youth activities, and field health practices. 

The training aimed to increase young people's field-oriented knowledge and experience.
