Applications for the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), which will be held on June 26-27, 2021, started on February 4, 2021. Experts remind that, unlike previous years, HES code information will be collected from candidates during applications this year, so candidates must have obtained their HES code before applying. Applications can be made until March 2, 2021.
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Specialist Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş, Manager of Educational Institutions and Guidance Services, provided information regarding the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) applications to be held on June 26-27, 2021.
Applications have started
Stating that YKS applications to be held on June 26-27, 2021, have started, Specialist Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş said, “Candidates will be able to submit their applications electronically between February 04 and March 02, 2021, through ÖSYM Application Centers or individually via ÖSYM’s https://ais.osym.gov.tr website or the ÖSYM Candidate Transactions Mobile Application.”
Candidates must obtain a HES code
Specialist Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş said that unlike previous years, HES code information will be collected from candidates during applications this year, so candidates must have obtained their HES code before applying.
Stating that there are points to be careful about when applying for the exam, just as there are points to be careful about during the exam and preference period, Specialist Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş listed these points as follows:
- You can access all information regarding the application and exam process by reaching the 2021 YKS Guide at www.osym.gov.tr.
- For candidates with a 2020-TYT score of 200 and above, who wish to use their 2020-TYT score without participating in any session of the 2021-YKS (including candidates wishing to apply to programs admitting students with special talent), it is mandatory to apply for the 2021-YKS. Those candidates who do not apply for the 2021-YKS will definitely not be able to use their 2020-TYT score for the year 2021.
- When you make your application, you must pay your exam fee to complete it.
- If you are applying only for TYT, 90 TL; if you are applying for TYT together with either AYT or YDT, 180 TL; if you are applying for all three sessions, you can deposit 270 TL into the bank accounts specified in the guide by the end of working hours on March 03, 2021, at the latest.
- If you scored 200 or above in the 2020-TYT, those who wish to use their 2020-TYT score for 2021-YKS placement without entering any session of the 2021-YKS will pay 25 TL as the 2020-YKS Application Fee.
- Those who wish to be placed in a program with SAY, SÖZ, EA, or DİL scores in 2021-YKS (even if their 2020-TYT score is 200 or above) must apply for the 2021-AYT and/or 2021-YDT sessions and pay the exam fee.
- If you were unable to complete your application process for any reason between February 04 and March 02, 2021, you can submit your application on March 17-18, 2021.
Success ranking condition continues this year as well
Noting that the success ranking condition continues as in previous years, Specialist Psychologist Counselor Ece Tözeniş;
- Medicine: lowest 50 thousand,
- Dentistry: lowest 80 thousand,
- Pharmacy: lowest 100 thousand,
- Law: lowest 125 thousand,
- Architecture: lowest 250 thousand,
- Engineering, Forestry, Agriculture, Aquaculture/Water Sciences Faculty programs, excluding Woodworking Industrial Engineering programs; including Food Engineering programs of Agricultural Faculties: lowest 300 thousand,
- Teacher Education, including Guidance and Psychological Counseling programs: lowest 300 thousand, the success ranking condition continues for placement procedures in these programs.”
Ece Tözeniş said that 135 minutes have been allocated for the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) to be held on June 26, 2021; 180 minutes for the Field Proficiency Test (AYT) to be held on June 27, 2021, and 120 minutes for the Foreign Language Test (YDT).
