A panel titled “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow of Psychological Counseling” was organized by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, hosted by Üsküdar University. The opening speech of the panel, held within the scope of September 30 National Psychological Counselors Day, was given by Istanbul Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Mehmet Nezir Eryarsoy.
Many educators from across Istanbul attended the panel held in the Nermin Tarhan conference hall.
The opening speech of the program was delivered by Istanbul Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Mehmet Nezir Eryarsoy.
In the program, which garnered significant interest from guidance counselors and psychological counselors, Betül Coskun, Coordinator of the Guidance Workshops of Istanbul Teacher Academies, also delivered a speech.
Mehmet Nezir Eryarsoy: “We are all here for the sake of the children”
Istanbul Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Mehmet Nezir Eryarsoy, stating that he believes psychological counselors and guidance teachers are a step ahead of other branches in protecting society's health and raising healthy individuals, said: “We are all here for the sake of the children; we are fighting for the sake of the children. Although our sky today is not as clear as we desire due to known reasons, we will continue our efforts to make the sky clearer than ever with your support and work. In protecting the health of a society and raising healthy individuals, we believe that perhaps our psychological counselors and guidance teachers are a step ahead of other branches. In this sense, the work of our Ministry of National Education and our Provincial Directorate is becoming more prominent day by day, year by year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers who participate the most, our guidance academy within our academies, and the teachers of our guidance workshop. As the ministry, as our provincial directorate, and as workshops, we are aware of your value.”
Following the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Engin Deniz, Prof. Dr. Alim Kaya, Prof. Dr. Müge Yukay Yüksel, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Durmuş Ümmet delivered their presentations in the panel titled “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow of Psychological Counseling.”
The program, which also featured a music recital, concluded with a group photo.
