Yellow-shirted heroes of the preference period gathered at a motivation dinner

Üsküdar University's yellow-shirted students gathered at the traditional motivation dinner after the successfully completed preference period. In the program, attended by President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör, and academic and administrative staff, students who served at various campuses throughout the preference period collectively shed the fatigue of the intense period. 

The program, held in the Çarşı Campus garden, was attended by the university management, academics, administrative staff, and yellow-shirted students working at various campuses, notably President of Üsküdar University Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and Rector Prof. Nazife Güngör.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “I find the efforts of every colleague very valuable”

In the meeting, held in a very sincere atmosphere, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan thanked all academic, administrative, and student teams who took part in the preference period, stating that the process was not only a period of promoting the university but also guiding prospective students in one of the important decisions of their lives. Tarhan said; “First of all, I thank all my colleagues, professors, and students who contributed to this process. We truly had a very intense and successful promotion period together. Here, we not only introduced our university but also tried to guide our prospective students in an important decision regarding their lives. For this reason, I find the efforts of every colleague working in the field very valuable.”

Prof. Nazife Güngör: “We had a very intense but very enjoyable promotion period”

Prof. Nazife Güngör, on her part, stated that this year's preference period was productive and enjoyable, thanking the dedication shown by the academics, administrative staff, and students who took part throughout the process. Güngör stated that prospective students make a difficult decision when choosing a university; “Our professors, as always, worked hard all day, introduced our university, and helped the candidates in some way. Candidates make a very difficult decision, and the guidance of our professors in this difficult decision was very important.” she said.

Güngör stated that deans and directors were actively involved in the field throughout the process and that all administrative units also made significant contributions to the process. Güngör also thanked the Corporate Communications Department, saying, “They truly did a magnificent job. Hopefully, it will be auspicious for our university and all of us.”

Prof. Osman Çerezci: “Our students did an excellent job”

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Osman Çerezci stated that as a faculty, they experienced the same excitement during the preference period, drawing particular attention to the dedication shown by the students. Çerezci said; “Our students truly did an excellent job. They arrived early in the morning and took their places. They did a very good job. I thank everyone very much. I wish that the outcome will be auspicious for our university.”

Prof. Deniz Ülke Kaynak: “We put together a great team effort”

Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Deniz Ülke Kaynak also emphasized the dedication shown by the students and academics working in the field during the preference period. Kaynak said; “Especially the energy of our colleagues working in the field, the efforts of our students, and the communication our professors established with prospective students were very valuable. We put together a great team effort. I thank everyone who contributed. Hopefully, we will be rewarded for all this effort with good results.”

Prof. Gül Esra Atalay: “We no longer talked about Üsküdar University, but its fine details”

Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Gül Esra Atalay stated that this year's preference period was productive despite being more intense and tiring than previous years. Atalay also noted that prospective students' knowledge levels about the university were remarkable, adding that candidates closely followed the university and its academics. Atalay said; “Most of the students came knowing us; we no longer introduced Üsküdar University itself, but rather its fine details. They asked about those. They had even examined the professors' photos. Some addressed a specific professor by name when they saw them. These are things we like and good news for our university.”

Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal: “There was the same effort and dedication in all our campuses”

Director of the Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) Asst. Prof. Ömer Faruk Karasakal stated that the teams working at all campuses showed great effort and thanked the academic and administrative staff who contributed to the process. Karasakal said; “I also truly believe that we had a very productive preference and promotion period. This effort and dedication were present in all our campuses. We did more than our best at Çarşı Campus as well.”

Yellow-shirted students shared their experiences

In the program, campus chiefs, representing the yellow-shirted students who worked during the preference period, also shared their thoughts and feelings. The students stated that the team spirit empowered them during their service and expressed that working together was an important experience for them.
The students expressed their happiness in both promoting the university and contributing to prospective students making the right choice during the preference period, where they communicated one-on-one with candidates, and thanked the academic and administrative staff who supported them throughout the process.
After the intense preference and promotion period, the motivation dinner brought together the university management, academic and administrative staff, and students around the same table. 

The program witnessed enjoyable moments celebrating the team spirit and solidarity demonstrated during the preference process.
