Yalda Night Celebrated Enthusiastically in Uskudar

The Yalda Night Celebration, which brought together tradition and culture with a modern entertainment concept, took place at Uskudar University on the longest night of the year. Yalda Night, one of the most deeply rooted and meaningful traditions of Persian culture, was celebrated with a special program that combined traditional values with contemporary elements. This meaningful night, symbolizing the beginning of winter and the triumph of light over darkness, was held with widespread participation.

The event, organized by the Directorate of International Relations at the Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall of Uskudar University's Central Campus, attracted significant interest from academic and administrative staff, and students, including Uskudar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör.

The program, which strengthened intercultural interaction, took place in a cordial atmosphere.

Uskudar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, in her speech during the program, drew attention to the cultural and humanitarian values of Yalda Night. Güngör emphasized the importance of such events for recognizing different cultures and strengthening unity and solidarity.

Music, Tradition, and Entertainment Together… 

The DJ performance and solo acts presented as part of the program were met with great interest.

Participants enjoyed pleasant moments.

Hafez fortune telling and prize-winning competitions attracted attention

The Hafez Fortune Telling event, one of the most mystical traditions of Yalda Night, garnered significant interest from participants. Symbolic interpretations from Hafez's Divan added cultural depth to the night.

Additionally, the organized prize-winning competitions ensured active participation from attendees and created enjoyable moments.

Yalda Table Brightened with Photo Shoots

The traditional Yalda table concept, adorned with symbolic Yalda Night foods like pomegranates and watermelons, became one of the most popular areas of the event.

Participants immortalized their memories by taking photos within this special concept.

Tarhan Also Visited the Traditional Yalda Table

During the day, Uskudar University Founding Rector and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, also visited the traditional Yalda table.
