Lokman Çelik, Faculty Secretary of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Üsküdar University, was awarded the Bronze Medal Certificate by the Turkish Red Crescent for his regular and voluntary blood donations. Çelik, who has the rare 0 Rh (-) blood group, contributed to social solidarity with his selfless blood donations, while also drawing attention to the importance of voluntary blood donation with his exemplary behavior.

Lokman Çelik, who serves as the Faculty Secretary at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Üsküdar University, was honored with the Bronze Medal Certificate by the Turkish Red Crescent for his voluntary blood donations, which he maintains with a spirit of philanthropy and social responsibility.

Çelik, who has the rare 0 Rh (-) blood group, was among the donors who qualified for a bronze medal from the Turkish Red Crescent with his regular blood donations, aimed at contributing to the treatment of patients in need.

Contributed to social solidarity with voluntary blood donation

Lokman Çelik stated that he regularly donates blood both to contribute to his own health and to offer hope to patients in need, emphasizing that voluntary blood donation is one of the most meaningful examples of social solidarity.

Acting with the understanding of “Do good for yourself and donate blood,” Çelik aimed to touch the lives of many patients with his selfless donations.

Awarded a bronze medal for over 10 donations

The Turkish Red Crescent honors voluntary and regular blood donors with medals and plaques when they reach certain donation counts. In this context, voluntary donors who have made 10 or more blood donations are eligible to receive the Bronze Medal Certificate.

Lokman Çelik was also awarded the Bronze Medal Certificate and a bronze medal by the Turkish Red Crescent for his over 10 blood donations.

Blood donation is a life-saving social responsibility

Çelik emphasized that blood donation is of great importance not only for the healthcare system but also for strengthening the culture of social solidarity. He also stressed that the meaningful contributions of regular voluntary donors set an example for society.

His target is a gold medal…

Çelik stated that his next goal is a gold medal. 

To honor voluntary and regular blood donors, the Turkish Red Crescent awards bronze medals, silver medals, gold medals, and plaques based on the number of donations.

•    25 Donations: Silver medal (silver coating)

•    35 Donations: Gold medal (gold coating)

Üsküdar University organizes Blood Donation events…

The Red Crescent Club, operating under the Health, Culture and Sports Department of Üsküdar University, brings people together at multiple “Blood Donation” events at different times and campuses throughout the year to raise social awareness and touch lives.

Participants get the opportunity to provide hope to those in need by donating blood and to reinforce the awareness of healthy living and community service.
