Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (VSHS) organized the event "Social Service Activities in Non-Governmental Organizations: The Case of the Turkish Red Crescent". Turkish Red Crescent Istanbul Provincial President Burcu Kösem attended the event as a guest. Within the scope of the program, students learned about the activities of the Red Crescent and the functioning of non-governmental organizations.

Asst. Prof. Melek Çaylak was the moderator of the event, which was held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Emirnebi Conference Hall.

Asst. Prof. Melek Çaylak: "Non-governmental organizations are of great importance"
Drawing attention to the strengthening of democratic participation by non-governmental organizations, VSHS Social Services Program Head Asst. Prof. Melek Çaylak stated that "Civil society organizations are of great importance in terms of making the voice of the society heard and strengthening democratic processes. These organizations enable individuals to come together and work for common goals and contribute to the representation of all segments of society."

Asst. Prof. Gamze Kağan: "Doing good deeds for free is one of the happiest events in the world"
In place of Turkish Red Crescent Kadıköy District President Birol Boz, Turkish Red Crescent Kadıköy Branch Board Member and SHMYO Occupational Health and Safety Program Head Asst. Prof. Gamze Kağan stated that "My advice to you is, attend events, volunteer. Doing good deeds for nothing is one of the happiest things in the world. In our culture, there is a very beautiful saying that the hand that gives does not know the hand that receives. We, the Red Crescent, associations and NGOs are just intermediaries. We are the intermediary, not the giver. We reach out to those in need with someone else's donation. The smile on a person's face, receiving the news of a need that has been closed gives indescribable happiness."

Burcu Kösem: "Volunteering is one of the strongest values of our society"
Emphasizing that volunteering is one of the strongest values that increase solidarity in society and spread goodness, Turkish Red Crescent Istanbul Provincial President Burcu Kösem stated that "Volunteerism is one of the strongest values of our society. We believe that doing good, sharing, and being together in difficult times strengthens the bonds in society. As Turkish Red Crescent, we work shoulder to shoulder with our volunteers in terms of kindness and help. Because kindness is contagious and thanks to our volunteers, we are able to reach wider audiences."

After the Q&A certificate of appreciation was given to the guests, the event ended with a group photo.
