4th-year students of the Public Relations and Publicity Department, Senanur Kaymaz, Aslıhan Albayrak, Arifenur Okatın, Elif Şahin, are carrying out a social responsibility project themed “Nothing to Hide” under the supervision of their advisor, Dr. Lecturer Nejla Polat.
The campaign's goal is to prevent the ignorance caused by period taboos and the health problems it brings, and to provide washable pad support to women who cannot access hygienic products due to economic reasons.
In this context, it aims to protect the health of 26 women living in Tüylüce (Nallıkaya) village of Siirt, identified as those in need, by delivering washable pads and enabling them to spend their menstrual periods in sterile conditions.
To draw attention to the campaign's purpose, designs prepared by volunteers, along with the stories of women in need, can be visited at the 'We Weren't Ashamed, We Drew' exhibition at Üsküdar University South Campus on June 6-7.
Academicians and students showed great interest in the exhibition.
