Prof. Dr. Aylin Tutgun Ünal's article titled “Validity and Reliability Analyses of Üsküdar Political Leadership and Üsküdar Voter Self-Assessment Scales”, which was written for İstanbul Arel University Journal of Communication Studies, has been published.

The article 'Validity and Reliability Analyses of Üsküdar Political Leadership and Üsküdar Voter Self-Assessment Scales' has been published.

In the study, which aimed to develop two scales, namely “Üsküdar Political Leadership Scale (ÜSPOLİD)” and “Üsküdar Voter Self-Assessment Scale (ÜSSEÇMEN)”, by establishing their validity and reliability, the sample consisted of 414 people for data collection after creating an item pool for the scales to be developed to determine voters' political leadership expectation-perception and their awareness levels in election decisions.

The abstract of the article, which also includes Dr. Ayça Ferda Kansu among its authors, is as follows:

“The contribution of the science of psychology to contemporary politics is undeniable. In this regard, to understand the current political situation more clearly; the need to measure voters' self-awareness level as a voter and their leadership expectations brought to the agenda the necessity of developing scales in the field of political psychology.

As a result of the analyses, it was found that ÜSPOLİD consists of one dimension and 18 items, explaining 73.84% of the variance, while ÜSSEÇMEN consists of two dimensions and 16 items, explaining 60.57% of the variance.

Furthermore, it was revealed that ÜSSEÇMEN consists of two dimensions, named “Decision Making by Rational Measure” and “Decision Making by Emotional/Ethical Measure”. The internal consistency coefficients of the scales were found to be quite high. As a result of the studies, the scales were understood to be valid and reliable.”
