Üsküdar Üniversitesi Health, Culture and Sports Directorate in collaboration with the First Touch to Miracle Club, the event titled “When Will You Be the Hero of Your Life?” was held. Turkey’s first and only expression trainer Volkan Akay participated as a speaker at the event. Akay conveyed important information to the participants on life motivation.
“The most important element in communication is being able to express oneself”
Referring to the importance of expression in communication, Akay said; “I come from a television background. And I have achieved many successes in the sector. The biggest obstacle between people is communication. The most important element in communication is expressing oneself. My identity is known as Mr. Expression among the public. Being able to express oneself, to understand and explain correctly, is very important. As a society, we suffer from this problem. Expressing oneself in inter-personal communication solves many problems.”
“Let's accept the realities and not give up on our dreams”
Emphasizing the need to contend with realities in life, Akay said; “Let's be realistic, let's accept, but let's not give up on our dreams. Fight under all circumstances, don't be afraid. We have embraced the feeling of fear; in our lands, people are as afraid of dying as they are of living. Let's not hide our laughter, our tears. Let's not be afraid to criticize, to try. It is very important to be able to say, ‘This is my path and my struggle.’”
“Don't disregard your heart, your path will narrow”
Stating that life is difficult for every individual, Akay noted; “There are difficulties we encounter at unexpected moments. You get rejected, abandoned, you wait in a corner. Life sometimes pushes you so hard that it understands you are running away from the struggle and are afraid. As long as you run away from the realities you see, life's difficulties will never end. Don't disregard your heart, your path will narrow.”
“Stay on your feet, stay alive”
Emphasizing that persistence to win is effective in the struggle of life, Akay said; “We fight when we lose, so why don't we persist to win? A person's battle and the hero of their life is again the person themselves. Don't be afraid to lose, don't be silent. Fight against those who try to sabotage your dreams. Don't live halfway; have dreams you can stand behind and not be afraid of. Leave a mark in your life, do your best. And when you are most cornered, open your hands to the Creator. Stay on your feet, stay alive.”
