The 42nd Graphic Design Exhibition, prepared by the Professional Organization of Graphic Designers within the scope of the Design Workshop, was visited by the Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Visual Communication Design Department. Faculty members and students of the Visual Communication Design Department attended the 42nd Graphic Design Exhibition, which has been held since 1981.
The event, organized under the leadership of Visual Communication Design Department Head Prof. Dr. And Algül, attracted significant interest from students.

At the exhibition held in the Main Gallery of Marmara University Acıbadem University GSF, designs were featured in 25 categories, ranging from posters to books, and from motion graphics to social media applications.
Starting the journey is important for success…
During the examination of the works by Visual Communication Design Department faculty members at the exhibition, students were frequently reminded of the main idea: “Each of the works here is technically achievable, but one must embark on the journey to create them.”
Within the scope of the trip, students had the opportunity to conduct in-depth examinations of works published and awarded in the field of Visual Communication Design since September 2022. They also found the opportunity to brainstorm how the education received in classes could be transformed into output in a practical field.
Students participating in the exhibition were motivated for these and similar exhibitions/competitions that could help them make a name for themselves in the industry during their student lives.
In this context, it was emphasized that such exhibitions could be a source of inspiration for Visual Communication Design Department students to create works that could be submitted for the GMK Graphic Design Exhibition to be held in 2024 and to participate in various competitions.
Award winners were honored
At the exhibition held under the main sponsorship of Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi, the ‘Graphic Design Awards,’ which serve as a source of encouragement and motivation for young talents in the profession, found their owners with an award ceremony held at the opening.
In the competition aiming to identify the most qualified and best works of the year among 450 designs submitted for the awards, GMK design awards were given in 25 categories and 6 special awards.
