Visit to Prof. Nevzat Tarhan from the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations

Nevzat Duyar, President of the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations, and his accompanying delegation visited Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University and psychiatrist, in his office. During the meeting, views were exchanged on signing a cooperation protocol between the two institutions and developing joint projects. 

Nevzat Duyar, President of the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations, Prof. Sebahattin Destek, faculty member of Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Health Commission and Giresun Provincial Representative, and Turgut Özbey, Board Member and Head of the Tourism Commission, visited Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University, in his office. 

Evaluations made for the development of joint projects

During the meeting, coordinated by Asil Barış Bağ, Secretary General of Üsküdar University, evaluations were made regarding the signing of a cooperation protocol and the development of joint projects between the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations and Üsküdar University. 

Current issues concerning Türkiye and the agenda were also discussed during the meeting.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “It is valuable for civil society to act as a partner in decision-making systems”

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, President of Üsküdar University, noted that the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations is organized in 81 provinces in Türkiye and in 41 countries internationally. Stating that the Confederation has a broad structure, Tarhan emphasized the importance of civil society's contribution to decision-making processes for Türkiye's future. 

Tarhan stated: “Through this visit, we observed that the Global Confederation of Civil Society Organizations is organized in 41 countries internationally and in 81 provinces in Türkiye, and that it is an important civil society organization in Türkiye, operating as a large umbrella organization and confederation that has expanded internationally. We thank Nevzat Duyar for his efforts and motivation. It is especially valuable for civil society to act as a partner in the country's decision-making systems for Türkiye's future. We know that society's ownership of governance contributes to fewer errors in management and more accurate decision-making. Therefore, we decided to encourage this and sign a protocol as a university.”

The meeting concluded with a souvenir photo session after mutual evaluations.
