Üsküdar's forensic scientists in the earthquake region for identification efforts…

Debris removal efforts for collapsed buildings continue in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake, and its region. The team, which includes students from Üsküdar Üniversitesi Forensic Sciences department and Autopsy Technicians program, volunteered their support for the identification efforts of individuals recovered from the debris. The students participated in the work in Hatay, where they went on February 21st via the Council of Forensic Medicine, with one-week intervals.

The wounds of the earthquake that affected 11 provinces and plunged Turkey and the world into mourning are being tried to be healed. Meanwhile, debris removal efforts continue in the region.

In the Narlıca district of Antakya, Hatay; work continues by experts at the complex campus established for identification efforts, burial procedures, crime scene investigations, and the execution of legal processes.

The bodies still being recovered are brought to this complex, and after specific samples are taken, they are delivered to their relatives or buried in the established cemeteries.

Students from Üsküdar Üniversitesi Forensic Sciences department and Autopsy Technicians program also supported the on-site work with two separate teams, each for a week.

Experts from the Council of Forensic Medicine, autopsy technicians, police officers from the crime scene investigation and criminal departments, and public prosecutors voluntarily contributed to the identification efforts under the supervision of public prosecutors.
