Üsküdar University Walks Towards the Future with a Quarter-Century of Experience!

As Turkey's first thematic university in the fields of behavioral sciences and health, established in 2011, Üsküdar University continues its activities with the goal of training future healthcare professionals and Nobel-candidate scientists, leveraging its quarter-century of experience spanning from science to health, and its expertise in the healthcare field. Üsküdar University, which has a multidisciplinary approach and also draws strength from its scientific and application partner NPİSTANBUL Beyin Hastanesi, continues its academic journey, which began 10 years ago with approximately 700 students, today with over 22,000 students.

Established on March 3, 2011, Üsküdar University welcomed its first students in the 2012-2013 academic year. Beginning its academic journey with approximately 700 students, Üsküdar University today provides academic education to a total of 22,103 students, including 11,567 undergraduate, 7,218 associate degree, 3,110 master's, and 208 doctoral students. Üsküdar University has approximately 23,000 graduates.

A Pioneer in Higher Education with 6 Faculties, 1 Vocational School of Health Services, and 5 Institutes

Üsküdar University hosts six faculties, one vocational school, and five institutes, operating with a multidisciplinary expertise approach across the fields of medicine, dentistry, health sciences, communication, engineering and natural sciences, and humanities and social sciences. In addition to undergraduate and associate degree programs, it also hosts master's and doctoral programs in various fields at the Institutes of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Forensic Sciences, and Sufism Studies.

Towards a Strong Future with a Quarter-Century of Experience

Üsküdar University aims to train future professionals and scientists with a multidisciplinary approach and experience that spans from science to health. The university, possessing a quarter-century of experience and knowledge, trains professionals and Nobel-candidate scientists, especially in the field of health, with the experience and support of its application partner NPİSTANBUL Beyin Hastanesi. Üsküdar University also offers its students extensive application and internship opportunities through its health application and research centers, NP Feneryolu and NP Etiler Medical Centers.

Declared a “Center of Excellence” by UNESCO

Üsküdar University is involved in significant efforts to produce knowledge that will add value to science with its technological infrastructure. Üsküdar University, which became the Turkey Representative of the Brain Initiative Program launched by U.S. President Obama in 2015, was declared a 'Center of Excellence' by UNESCO in 2018 for its work in Neurobiology, Cognitive Medicine, and Brain Research.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “We Have Come a Long Way in 10 Years”

Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, stated that the university is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, saying, “We have accomplished a lot in a short time. In our first year, we had approximately 700 students. This year, our active student count is over 22,000. The number of our graduates is also around 23,000. We can say that this is a good performance for a 10-year-old university. We will continue our scientific journey with the same pace and enthusiasm.”
