Üsküdar University's Tribute to its Student

Furkan Arslan, an Üsküdar University Bachelor of Psychology and Clinical Master's student who lost his life after suffering a heart attack following coronavirus, was commemorated at a ceremony organized by Üsküdar University. Furkan Arslan's master's diploma was presented to his mother Nermin Arslan and elder brother Osman Arslan by Üsküdar University Founding Rector Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan.

Furkan Arslan, who passed away at the age of 25 last April due to a heart attack he suffered after contracting coronavirus, was commemorated at a ceremony attended by his family, lecturers, and friends.

The ceremony, held with reduced capacity due to the pandemic at Üsküdar University Central Campus Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, was attended by Furkan Arslan's mother Nermin Arslan, his elder brother Osman Arslan, as well as his lecturers and friends from school.

Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, in his speech at the ceremony, extended his condolences to his family attending the ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that Furkan Arslan, a Psychology undergraduate and Clinical Psychology graduate student, was a successful student in his classes and well-liked by his lecturers and friends, and expressed their deep sorrow over his loss. Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan noted that they organized this ceremony to keep Furkan Arslan's memory alive.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that the book of good deeds of those who pass away does not close, saying, “The prayers and good deeds performed after them reach them. Spiritually, it elevates their status. For this reason, we wanted to be a part of this. May Allah have mercy on him again. May Allah grant patience to his relatives and loved ones. Through Furkan Arslan, we have created a page of remembrance at our university. We will permanently feature him in the corner of remembrance on our university's website.”

His diploma was presented to his family

Furkan Arslan's diploma was presented to his family by Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. Mother Nermin Arslan, who thanked Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan for the organized ceremony, experienced emotional moments.

After the ceremony, Furkan Arslan's mother and friends, unable to hold back their tears, comforted each other with long hugs.
