Üsküdar University to Represent Turkey at 7th Neuroscience G20 Summit

Üsküdar University will participate as the sole Turkish university representing Turkey at the Neuroscience G20 Summit this year, as in previous years. Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Psychiatry Specialist Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar will attend the summit, which was decided to be held online on November 21st due to Coronavirus precautions. 

The opening speech of the 7th Neuroscience G20 Summit, which aims to provide rapid clinical solutions for patients with neurological disorders in brain and spinal interventions, will be delivered by Babak Kateb, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT). Over 50 speakers from 16 countries, including the United States, Germany, Argentina, Canada, England, and Turkey, will participate in the summit.

Üsküdar University, which carries out the work for Turkey's first brain park project and offers both education and treatment opportunities in brain research and brain diseases, will participate as the sole university representing Turkey at the 7th Neuroscience G20 Summit.

In previous years, Üsküdar University was selected as a project partner from Turkey for the Brain Initiative Project; Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), which operates in the field of brain research in the USA.

16 countries to participate in the scientific summit

The 7th Neuroscience G20 Summit, which was hosted by Japan last year and will take place online on November 21st this year due to Covid-19 precautions, will begin with the opening speech by Babak Kateb, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT).

Over 50 expert speakers from predominantly the United States, as well as Turkey, Australia, India, Iran, Mexico, Pakistan, Japan, China, Canada, England, Israel, Greece, Germany, Argentina, and France will participate in the summit, which will take place in 8 sessions. The symposium will also feature keynote speeches and discussion sessions.

 Impacts of Covid-19 to be evaluated from many perspectives

Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who will represent Turkey at the summit, will deliver a speech titled 'Impacts of Covid-19 on Loneliness'. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz, Coordinator of AMATEM at Üsküdar University NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital and Psychiatry Specialist, will present on 'Fear and Anxiety During the Covid-19 Process in Turkey: Coronaphobia Scale', and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar, Director of Üsküdar University Institute of Social Sciences and Psychiatry Specialist at NP Feneryolu Medical Center, will deliver her speech titled 'Post-Traumatic Growth and Sources of Anxiety Related to Covid-19'.

 The final declaration of the symposium will be announced at the end of the online G20 Summit.
