Üsküdar University NeuroSpectra team ranked 3rd in the TEKNOFEST 2024 Biotechnology and Innovation-Rare Diseases Genetic Therapy Category (RaDiChal) with their project titled 'An Innovative Approach in ALS Treatment: Progranulin Enhancement and Autophagy Activation'. The awards were presented to the successful students at TEKNOFEST 2024 held in Adana.
Under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Cihan Taştan, Director of TRGENMER at Üsküdar University and Founding Director of RaDiChal, RaDiChal (Rare Disease Challenge), which has been operating since 2020, was included in TEKNOFEST 2024 this year under the Biotechnology Innovation Competition Rare Diseases Category.
The project team for 'An Innovative Approach in ALS Treatment: Progranulin Enhancement and Autophagy Activation', advised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Burcu Türkgenç, Head of the Medical Biology Department at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, included Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine students Rabia Nur Gökkurt, Nida Açıkgöz, F. Nidal Şat, and Molecular Biology and Genetics Master's student Büşra Güler, representing Üsküdar University.
They had the opportunity to present their projects to Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kaçır
The team, which advanced to the finals by surpassing hundreds of projects, had the opportunity to present their projects to Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kaçır during the final stage of the competition.

At the award ceremony held in Adana between October 02-06, 2024, the awards were presented to the team by Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Mehmet Kaçır, Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, and T3 Foundation Board of Trustees Chairman/Teknofest Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar.
