Üsküdar University Students Meet at Iftar Program

Üsküdar University students gathered for an iftar program. Hundreds of Üsküdar residents broke their fast around the same table at the program organized by the Hürriyet ve Adalet Kulübü. Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen also attended the program.

At the iftar program organized by the Hürriyet ve Adalet Kulübü in the garden of the Çarşı Campus, Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen, Üsküdar University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka, Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, and numerous students, along with academic and administrative staff, came together.

Prof. Dr. Zelka; “When I think of Ramadan, the first thing that comes to mind is excitement”

Speaking at the program, which also featured a music recital by the students, Üsküdar University Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka shared insights on the importance of Ramadan. Starting his speech by extending his gratitude to everyone who organized and participated in this meaningful gathering during the month of Ramadan, Zelka said; “When I think of Ramadan, the first thing that comes to mind is excitement. We are currently experiencing an excitement here that I haven't felt for a long time. I thank both our club president and club members, and all our friends, for making me feel this emotion again after many years. The fact that our student club is organizing this event in a student-centric manner is a distinct indicator of the importance given to our students.”

Hilmi Türkmen; “It's good that Üsküdar exists, it's good that Üsküdar University exists”

Expressing his happiness at being together at the iftar table, Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen said; “We thank our Allah who brought us together with you on this blessed Ramadan evening. We thank our club, our club's dear president, and their team for this beautiful organization. We thank our university's rector and professors, and you have brightened our table on this beautiful day; may Allah brighten your future, may your future be bright, and I congratulate you on your upcoming Eid. It's good that Üsküdar exists, it's good that Üsküdar University exists.”

Students broke their fast with the call to prayer. At the iftar gathering, which was also attended by alumni, students also had a long reunion with each other.
