The launch of the 'Beylikdüzü Disaster and Emergency Response Station' project, titled "Resilient City: Beylikdüzü" and undertaken by Beylikdüzü Municipality to provide service in possible disaster and emergency situations, was held. At the launch, emphasis was placed on Turkey's seismicity following the February 6 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes and their effects, drawing attention to the importance of pre-disaster damage reduction efforts. In this context, the stations placed in 10 neighborhoods were introduced. Ayşe Yıldırım, Lecturer and Head of the Emergency and Disaster Management Program at the Vocational School of Health Services, attended the launch on behalf of Üsküdar Üniversitesi.

Nearly five hundred people attended the launch held at the Post-Disaster Temporary Shelter and Logistics Center.
‘Beylikdüzü Disaster Management Model’ Introduced
Beylikdüzü Mayor and his deputies, fire department personnel, municipality employees, and various search and rescue associations attended the highly anticipated launch. The launch, which began with the screening of a promotional documentary, introduced the ‘Beylikdüzü Disaster Management Model’. Ayşe Yıldırım, Lecturer and Head of the Emergency and Disaster Management Program, examined the containers introduced at the launch.
Resilient City: Beylikdüzü
Within the scope of the ‘Beylikdüzü Disaster Management Model’, which makes the city more resilient and prepares it for all kinds of disasters with the goal of ‘Resilient City: Beylikdüzü’, stations are placed based on the number of buildings and neighborhood population. These stations include; 6 electric heavy-duty breakers, 30 cm diameter gasoline concrete cutters, electric and manual rebar cutters, electric heaters, field and regional lighting equipment, high and low rescue equipment with breathing apparatus, showers and toilets, fire extinguishers, a 66-liter medicine and vaccine storage cabinet with cooling memory, fire blankets, and a 9-person dormitory. In addition to the stations, drones kept ready to analyze the situation across the entire district in a potential disaster scenario were also introduced.

Foldable containers that can be set up in four minutes in a disaster zone were also introduced at the launch. The foldable containers garnered significant interest from the participants.
