The success of Üsküdar University, which prioritizes R&D activities, has been confirmed by the sharing of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. According to Varank's statement; Looking at TÜRKPATENT's first 6-month statistics for 2022, 14 universities were among the top 50 institutions applying for patents. While 333 patent and utility model applications were made by universities, Üsküdar University is also among the universities that made the most patent applications with 12 applications each.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank announced that 126,783 domestic industrial property applications were made to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in the first 6 months of the year. In his written statement, Varank shared statistical information regarding industrial property applications made to TÜRKPATENT in the first half of this year.
In the patent applications, where 14 universities were among the top 50 institutions, Üsküdar University also ranked third among the universities that made the most patent applications, with 12 applications each.

“Looking at TÜRKPATENT's first 6-month statistics for 2022, 14 universities were among the top 50 institutions applying for patents. A total of 333 patent and utility model applications were made by universities. Among the universities that made the most patent applications, Yıldız Technical University and Istanbul Gelişim University shared the first place with 17 applications each, Erciyes University came in second with 13 applications, while Istanbul Technical University, Üsküdar University, and Ege University ranked third with 12 applications each.”
