Üsküdar University Participated in the 7th International Education Conference

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, gave a presentation at the education-themed seminar attended by 70 academics from 15 different countries. With the presentations held at the 7th International Education Conference, attention was drawn to current issues experienced in the education system.

“Prof. Dr. Süleymanlı Called Attention to Current Issues in Education”

The 7th International Education Conference, with the main theme “Current Issues in the Education System: Secondary Education – Pre-University Education – Higher Education,” was organized online by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the National Aviation University of Ukraine, and the Institute of Education Development of Ukraine. Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, gave a presentation at the education-themed seminar attended by 70 academics from 15 different countries. With the presentations held at the 7th International Education Conference, attention was drawn to current issues experienced in the education system. Among the invited guests, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Head of the Department of Sociology, Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, also serves on the conference's scientific committee.

“Remarkable Presentation from Üsküdar at the International Conference”

At the 7th International Education Conference, organized through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, universities, and institutes, many projects and studies were presented that drew attention to current issues in the education system. Prof. Dr. Süleymanlı, representing Üsküdar Üniversitesi at the conference, and Nurşah Akça, a postgraduate student from Üsküdar Üniversitesi's Department of Sociology, drew attention to a global problem in their presentations. Süleymanlı and Akça; in their presentation titled “Digitalization, Education, and Loneliness,” stated that the digitalization, which gained momentum in education with the pandemic, caused changes in students' social relations and behaviors. Emphasizing that the misuse or uncontrolled use of technological devices, in particular, threatens students' psychosocial worlds and deepens the problem of loneliness, Süleymanlı and Akça stated that establishing a family environment with love, trust, and acceptance for children and young people, and encouraging them to form social connections, is important in reducing students' loneliness levels.
