Üsküdar University has embarked on a new beginning in Qatar, expanding its pioneering model projects in social innovation with an international vision. The project initiation meetings held in Qatar created an important platform that brought together the cultural and scientific values of Turkish and Qatari societies, strengthening ties between the two countries. Strategic cooperation steps were taken with prestigious institutions such as Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, Qatar Foundation, and Doha University during the meetings hosted by the Qatari Ambassador.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Social innovation does not only produce solutions to societal problems”
Üsküdar University's Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, drew attention to the importance of social innovation projects with these words: “Social innovation does not only produce solutions to societal problems; it is also a tool that strengthens understanding and solidarity among societies.”

Assist. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar: “Social innovation is about building a lasting bridge between cultures”
Üsküdar University Young Brains Academy Director, Assist. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, led the project initiation meetings and delivered presentations on the transformative power of social innovation on societies. In the sessions held at the Yunus Emre Enstitüsü in Qatar with the support of the Qatari Embassy, it was emphasized that social innovation projects, with their human-centered solutions, would enhance the welfare of both countries. Dr. Yaşar highlighted the humanitarian dimension of the work by stating, “Social innovation is not only about solving societal problems but also about building a lasting bridge between cultures and creating value.”

A global approach to social innovation…
Üsküdar University directs the projects it develops within the framework of its social innovation model towards Qatar's societal and cultural needs. The projects aim to offer solutions across a wide spectrum, from education to health, and from culture to technology.

One of the focal points of the project meetings was to discuss the potential of Üsküdar University's social innovation models to provide solutions to societal problems in Qatar, by transferring its knowledge and experience in this field to Qatar. In this context, the foundations for innovative educational programs and social projects, especially for younger generations, were laid.

A long-term dialogue is aimed to be established between the two countries
A long-term dialogue is aimed to be established between the two countries through culture and art, with projects to be implemented in cooperation with Yunus Emre Enstitüsü, ranging from Turkish language education to artistic activities. This cooperation is also expected to contribute to the mutual recognition and sharing of cultural heritage.

Embarked with the motto ‘Human First’
The project, which centers on humanity, is being implemented with the motto “Human First” and aims to create social value. These strategic collaborations will establish a lasting social and scientific bridge between Qatar and Turkey, enabling societies to move more strongly towards common goals…
