Üsküdar University hosted Indonesian academic delegation

Üsküdar University hosted an academic delegation consisting of representatives from various educational institutions from Indonesia. Within the scope of the visit, bilateral meetings were held, and a cooperation protocol (MOU) was signed. During the program, topics such as mutual academic cooperation, student and academic staff exchange were discussed, and the delegation also visited the campuses and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi to examine the work in education and health on-site. 

Üsküdar University continues to strengthen its international academic collaborations. In this context, a delegation representing various educational institutions from Indonesia visited the university and held various academic contacts.

The delegation included representatives from Yayasan Salsabila Lido, Yayasan As-Syifa Al-Khoeriyyah, Yayasan Darul Hikam, and Edutolia Education. During the visit, the delegation toured and conducted examinations at Üsküdar University Main Campus, NP Health Campus, and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi. Assistant Secretary General Cumhur Bakır and personnel from the Directorate of International Relations accompanied the delegation throughout their visit. 

In the first part of the program, bilateral meetings were held between President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan and the Indonesian delegation at the Main Campus Senate Hall. 

Following the meetings, an MOU signing ceremony was held.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan: “We must increase cooperation with our civilization's geography”

Making evaluations at the signing ceremony, President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan pointed out that Indonesia and Turkey are located in the same civilization basin, emphasizing the strategic importance of academic and cultural collaborations. Tarhan stated that the two societies have similar emotional and cultural reflexes, and this common ground makes collaborations in education and science more meaningful and sustainable.

In his speech, Prof. Tarhan emphasized that international relations should not be limited to academic protocols, but should transform into a human-centered structure that strengthens mutual interaction. Stating that student and academic staff exchange programs will form an important bridge in this context, Tarhan said; “Mutual visits and academic sharing will further strengthen the bond between the two institutions.”

“This interest is an indicator of cultural closeness”

Referring to previous academic contacts with Indonesia, Tarhan stated that he was particularly impressed by the interest shown in Üsküdar University publications in Indonesia during his visit to Jakarta last month. Tarhan expressed his satisfaction that works such as “Rumi Mesnevi Therapy” and “Women's Psychology” reached a wide readership in Indonesia, saying that this interest is an indicator of cultural closeness.

“Our aim is to establish a sustainable academic interaction network”

Tarhan also stated that Üsküdar University is open to international collaborations and that all necessary academic support will be provided to increase both student and academic staff mobility. Emphasizing that inter-university relations should be long-term and multi-dimensional, Tarhan used the expressions; “Our aim is not just to sign protocols, but to establish a sustainable academic interaction network.”

Emphasis on cooperation in education and health

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Abdurrahim Casim, the representative of the Indonesian delegation, provided information about their institutions, stating that they are an educational network with 20,000 students. Casim, who stated that they provide education in the fields of psychology, health sciences, and management, wished for increased student exchange and academic collaborations with Üsküdar University.

Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, on the other hand, stated that as Üsküdar University, they are open to mutual academic visits and student mobility, emphasizing the importance of developing cooperation bilaterally.

Campus visits were conducted

Within the scope of the program, the delegation toured the university campus and received information about academic units. 
The delegation also visited NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi to conduct on-site examinations of health services and clinical practices.
