A “Vocational and Career Planning Seminar” was organized in cooperation with Üsküdar University and the Sultanbeyli District Directorate of National Education. During the full-day event, the importance of young people making correct vocational and career plans at an early age was emphasized, and the contribution of university-public collaborations to students' personal development and future vision was discussed. The event, where Üsküdar University academicians shared educational processes and career opportunities for different disciplines, was met with great interest.

The seminar held at Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan Culture Center was attended by Sultanbeyli District Director of National Education Süreyya Aydın, Rector of Üsküdar University Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Sultanbeyli District Governor Kemal Şahin, Vice Dean of Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Mehmet Aydın, Director of Health Services Vocational School (SMHYO) Dr. Lecturer Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Dr. Lecturer Seçil Aydın Oral from the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Research Assistant Şeyma Yektar from the Department of Software Engineering (English), Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Research Assistant Betül Çelebi Dağ from the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Research Assistant Simge Kırteke from the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Communication. 

University-Public Collaborations Expand Young People's Horizons

Sultanbeyli District Governor Kemal Şahin, who delivered the opening speech of the seminar, stated that career planning is not limited to just career choice and underlined that it is a holistic process that supports students' personal development and prepares them for the future. Şahin stated that university-public collaborations expand the horizons of young people.

Contribution to Young People's Future Vision

Sultanbeyli District Director of National Education Süreyya Aydın, in his speech, drew attention to the importance of young people making correct vocational and career plans at an early age. Aydın emphasized that such collaborations, which support students in discovering their interests and talents, make significant contributions to the education process.

Universities Are Not Only Institutions That Produce Academic Knowledge…

Rector of Üsküdar University Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, in her speech within the scope of the seminar, stated that universities are not only institutions that produce academic knowledge, but also structures that guide society and young people. 

Güngör stated that Üsküdar University, with its student-centered education approach, brings different disciplines together to support young people in making conscious choices on their career journeys.

Güngör also stated that recognizing their own potential and developing their competencies in the right areas will strengthen both individual success and social development in the long run.

Career Experiences Shared from Different Disciplines

During the seminar, Üsküdar University academicians provided students with information about educational processes, professional experiences, and career opportunities related to their respective fields. Presentations from various disciplines such as health, engineering, psychology, and communication covered university life, department preferences, and post-graduation career paths.

The seminar, which attracted significant interest from students, concluded after the Q&A session.
