Üsküdar University Family Became a Great Hope for Little Hands…

Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication Visual Communication Design Department organized an event titled “Little Hands, Big Hopes” within the scope of a social responsibility project with the support of Haydi Tut Elimi Association. Members of Üsküdar University, who met with students from Atabeyli Secondary School in Kastamonu, brought the collected donations to little hands.

The event was attended by Dr. Fatma Turan, Lecturer at Üsküdar University Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Psychology Department; Ayşe Banu Güngenci, Secretary of Haydi Tut Elimi Association; Haydi Tut Elimi Association Board Members Serpil Tarhan and Ayşegül Şekli; and students.

Burcu Genç, the originator of the project and a 3rd-year student of Üsküdar University Visual Communication Design, was also there for the little hands.

A team of 30, who visited Atabeyli Secondary School in İnebolu district of Kastamonu, carried out activities with the children. The volunteers created beautiful and meaningful memories with the children. 

Dr. Fatma Turan, Lecturer: “The effort we showed to leave beautiful memories was worth it.”

Dr. Fatma Turan, Lecturer from the Psychology Department, stated that they did something very valuable; “First and foremost, seeing the bright eyes of the teachers in the village we visited and their highly motivated engagement with the children there made me extremely happy. My hopes increased even further, both for them and for our children. We did something very valuable. Likewise, seeing the light in the eyes of our team also made me very happy. The effort we showed to leave beautiful memories for them was worth it. Who knows who we went for; we will never know, but somehow they held our hands, and somehow we held their hands and hearts,” she said. 

Ayşe Banu Güngenci: “Witnessing the smiles on their faces is an indescribably beautiful feeling.”

Ayşe Banu Güngenci, Secretary General of Haydi Tut Elimi Association, said; “In our 'Little Hands, Big Hopes' event, touching little hands and little hearts, and witnessing the smiles on those beautiful faces is an indescribably beautiful human feeling. Our excitement when we set off was replaced by peace and happiness upon our return. As the Haydi Tut Elimi Association, we hope to meet at many more events.”

They Had a Good Time Together…

Within the scope of the event, face and hand painting were done for the children. Activities were carried out with clowns and magicians. The team, which met with intense interest, also experienced emotional moments from time to time.

Volunteers, including those from Sezin Schools, also provided assistance to the children with toys, stationery, and reading books.

Following the event, a science workshop was held, and candies and balloons were distributed to the children.
