Head of the Department of Nursing Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan addressed the seventh-term graduates in her opening speech. Stating that the importance of the nursing profession was understood during the pandemic, Doğan said; “To date, we have graduated a total of 517 students from our nursing department. With the 111 young friends graduating this year, we are proud to have brought a total of 628 nursing colleagues into our country's healthcare army and to the service of humanity. During the pandemic, everyone understood even more how important health and nursing are for human life. As nursing students, I am sure you also witnessed this and realized even better that you are members of a very important profession. In this process, of course, our dear families deserve the greatest praise and applause; our families always stood behind our young people with great dedication and were their biggest supporters.” she spoke.
Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan: “As Üsküdar University graduates, you will represent us in the best possible way wherever you go”
Head of the Department of Nursing Prof. Dr. Selma Doğan continued her speech; “As your instructors, we expect you to provide the best and most sensitive care to your patients, to understand them, to approach them with compassion, to protect their rights, to be truthful and fair no matter what, to prioritize societal interests over individual interests, not to forget that knowledge and effort are the most important values, to work with team spirit, to uphold your profession, and to strive for the service of our country and humanity. With the oath you will take here today, you will make this promise in our presence. This oath will be your guide; please consider each sentence of the oath separately and strive to work in accordance with these principles. Dear graduates, you certainly worked very hard during these four years, but have no doubt that you have graduated from a strong department of a strong university, both in terms of its staff and education; your school will always be your reference, and its doors will always be open to you. We believe that as Üsküdar University graduates, you will represent us in the best possible way wherever you go. May your path always be open, always look forward without forgetting your university years, may your life be happy and full of successes, stay with love and kindness.” she expressed.
Prof. Dr. Ertekin: “You have a very special profession, you touch people, lives”
At the seventh-term nursing oath ceremony, following a moment of silence and the National Anthem, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Arif Aktuğ Ertekin addressed the students. Ertekin said; “When we part with our students, it is both a farewell, a bittersweet feeling, and a beauty. We are happy when they arrive and sad when they leave. But we believe that they will be very successful wherever they go. Our students here will become soldiers of healthcare. When you start your professional life, you will realize that you have received a good education. You have a very special profession; you touch people, lives.” he said.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka: “Do not measure the value of your service with money”
Rector Substitute Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zelka began his speech by joining the students, stating that he had “secured his back.” Zelka gave advice to the young male and female nursing candidates; “There are three types of people represented here. Be someone who learns, produces, or supports others in life; do not be the fourth type. The truly important thing is the field, the area of application. I believe you will further develop the knowledge you have acquired. While doing this profession, you will have the opportunity to serve people and be beneficial. Do not measure the value of the service you provide by the fee you receive. Know that its value is too precious to be measured by money.” he expressed.

At the end of the program, the Nursing Oath was administered to the students who completed the nursing department by Lecturer Dr. Hatice Demirdağ, with all participants standing and accompanying.
During the oath, the entire hall stood and witnessed these moments.
At the end of the event, families who congratulated the graduating students experienced emotional moments.
