Üsküdar University, the executor of the MESSAGE (Microgravity Associated Genetics) experiment, one of the 13 scientific studies included in Turkey's first human space mission, invites young people to share their projects again this year at the Science and Idea Festival, which it is holding for the 9th time.
This year's theme of the Science and Idea Festival, which is open to every undiscovered idea that can turn from dream to reality, like the MESSAGE project that can lead to scientific discoveries potentially allowing cancer patients to be treated in space in the future, is “Your Idea, Your Invention!”
The deadline for applications for the Science and Idea Festival, organized by Üsküdar University for high school students in cooperation with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, is March 15, 2024.
The “Science and Idea Festival”, organized by Üsküdar University for high school students in cooperation with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, is being held for the 9th time this year.
Üsküdar University, which discovered a new treatment method for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia that is entering clinical trials and most recently conducted the "MESSAGE" experiment – one of the 13 projects carried out by Turkish astronaut Alper Gezeravcı in space, investigating the relationship between the immune system and genes affected by microgravity whose functions are yet to be discovered – has been organizing the Science and Idea Festival for 9 years without interruption.
This year's theme for the festival is “Your Idea, Your Invention!”. The deadline for project applications is March 15, 2024. The preliminary evaluation results of the projects will be announced on April 22.
A total of 300 thousand TL in awards will be distributed to students who rank in all categories at the festival, which will be held between May 30-31, 2024.
While interesting ideas compete at the festival, which attracts more interest every year; young people experience the joy of producing and discovering in a fun, colorful, and enjoyable competition environment.
At the Üsküdar University 9th Science and Idea Festival this year, high school students studying in Istanbul are invited to develop projects in the Social Sciences, Science and Technology, and Health Sciences categories.
