Üsküdar Üniversitesi invited everyone to move to raise awareness within the scope of World Move for Health Day. The importance of movement was emphasized in the program attended by academics from Üsküdar Üniversitesi. It was not only emphasized, but everyone also moved to the accompaniment of music.
Dean of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Haydar Sur, Head of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department Assoc. Dr. Defne Kaya, Lecturer in Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Assoc. Dr. Korkut Ulucan, and Faculty Member of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Yıldız Erdoğanoğlu participated in the event held at Üsküdar Üniversitesi Çarşı Campus.
Making the opening speech, Assoc. Dr. Defne Kaya drew attention to the importance of movement, stating, 'Our aim is for at least the people here to have learned what inactivity leads to by the end of the meeting.'
Obesity: The World's Common Disease
Research assistant Mahmut Çalık, in his presentation titled 'Inactivity,' pointed out that physical inactivity is the leading cause of death in Europe, stating, 'Currently, many of us are inactive individuals. Developments in transportation and the increase in mobile phone use are driving us towards this. In fact, obesity is the world's common disease. To avoid these, from the moment we incorporate physical activities into our lives, we will also ensure the removal of depression and psychological problems.'
Assist. Prof. Dr. Yıldız Erdoğanoğlu emphasized the importance of physical activities, exercises, and sports for our health.
At the end of the program, participants moved by playing games accompanied by music.
