Meeting with high school students in online events throughout the week, academics from Üsküdar University informed young people about university departments and career planning. Clinical Psychologist Aybeniz Yıldırım from NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital also provided information to the youth on family communication.
At the event where he met with Çankırı TOBB Science High School students, Prof. Dr. Tayfun Uzbay, Head of the Department of Internal Medical Sciences at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine and Advisor to the Rector, introduced the Faculty of Medicine to the youth in detail.
Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Education for Primary School Students
Assistant Professor Dr. Tuğba Kaman, Head of the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Program at Üsküdar University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ebru Özkan Oktay, Head of the Laboratory Technology Program, met with Emrullah Turanlı Primary School students as part of the “Design Skills Workshops” activities.
Students Grew Plants at Home
Meeting with students in two different sessions held on March 19 and April 8, Kaman and Oktay provided students with information on the cultivation, care, and importance of plants with medicinal and aromatic significance (such as sage, thyme, rosemary, mint, lemon balm, basil, calendula, parsley, lavender, etc.). The academics also conducted practical sessions on growing medicinal plants that students were interested in and chose, in pots at home, and asked the students to observe the plants’ growth process.
Clinical Psychologist Aybeniz Yıldırım from NPİSTANBUL Brain Hospital met with Ortaköy Zübeyde Hanım Girls’ Vocational High School students, gave a presentation titled “Family Communication and Conflicts,” and answered the young people’s questions.
In the final event of the week, Lecturer Ömer Faruk Karasakal, Head of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Program, provided information about the Vocational School of Health Services to Zeynep Kamil Health Vocational High School students.
