Üsküdar University and the Biotechnology Industrialists Association (BİYOSAD) came together to develop strong collaborations in the field of biotechnology and contribute to the growth of the ecosystem. During the meeting, which aimed to increase interaction between academia and the industry, joint project proposals and areas of cooperation were discussed.

Within the scope of the meeting and field trip held at the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone and Biotechnology Valley, efforts to integrate academic knowledge with the needs of the industry were evaluated.
The meeting was attended by Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, Deputy Secretary General Cumhur Bakır, Private Secretary Naringül Aksu, TRGENMER Manager Dr. Lecturer Cihan Taştan, R&D and Innovation Policies Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müge Ensari Özay, TRGENMER R&D Specialist Beyza Aydın, and BrainPark Technology Transfer Office Project Manager Bayram Güneş.
BİYOSAD was represented by Dr. Ercan Vardar, Pınar Kayhan, Anıl Uçan, Zeynep Göcen, and Aybüke Çelik Kalkan.

University-industry integration strengthens…
During the meeting, joint R&D projects aimed at strengthening university-industry integration were discussed. In this context, strategic cooperation opportunities that could be established with the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone were also evaluated.

Sustainability aimed in the biotechnology ecosystem
Internship, mentorship, and workforce development programs for students were among the prominent topics of the meeting. Furthermore, long-term collaborations that will create a sustainable synergy in the national biotechnology ecosystem, along with joint platforms focusing on bio-innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer, were emphasized.
New projects to increase Turkey's global competitiveness
Both institutions emphasized their openness to new projects that will increase Turkey's global competitiveness in the field of biotechnology.
The meeting concluded in a positive atmosphere aimed at deepening cooperation and establishing a joint work calendar.
