The 8th General Assembly of the Association of Turkic Universities (TÜRKÜNİB) was held under the auspices of Tashkent International University. The event brought together more than 70 rectors, academics, and representatives from across the Turkic world, where significant decisions were made to strengthen cooperation in the field of higher education. Within this framework, Üsküdar University’s membership in TÜRKÜNİB was officially approved.

Üsküdar University’s membership to TÜRKÜNİB officially approved
During the meeting, Üsküdar University’s admission to TÜRKÜNİB was formally accepted, marking a new milestone in the university’s international collaborations. With this membership, Üsküdar University has joined a prominent platform that fosters academic solidarity among Turkic nations.
Project presentation
Prof. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, faculty member of Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Sociology, and an expert of the Turkic Academy, attended the general assembly and introduced the project titled “Turkic Barometer 2025: Youth in Turkic States.”
As the project coordinator, Prof. Süleymanlı shared the findings of the research focusing on university youth’s perspectives on the Turkic World, identity affiliation, and trends in education and technology across Turkic states.
62 new universities join TÜRKÜNİB
At the assembly, it was also decided that 62 new universities would be admitted to the association, bringing the total number of member institutions to 172.
Among other key resolutions were the establishment of a special fund for the Orhun Exchange Program and the strengthening of TÜRKÜNİB’s institutional structure, reinforcing collaboration and mobility within the Turkic academic community.
