Üsküdar University continues to expand its international vision by opening its representative office in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with a ceremony. The opening ceremony of Üsküdar University Azerbaijan Representative Office, located in the most central point of Baku, was attended by leading educators, academics, and media representatives from Azerbaijan, and the representative office will facilitate Azerbaijani students' access to higher education opportunities in Turkey and contribute to strengthening academic and cultural bridges between the two countries.

While leading educators, academics, and media representatives from Azerbaijan attended the ceremony, Üsküdar University's Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Rector's Advisor and Director of the Institute of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar, and Baku Representative Konul Veli Beyli were also present.

Not just academic, but a cultural and strategic cooperation…

Speaking at the opening, Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör emphasized that this new bridge established between Azerbaijan and Üsküdar University carries the meaning of not only academic but also cultural and strategic cooperation. She stated, “Education is one of the strongest and most lasting ties between countries. As Üsküdar University, we view the academic collaborations we conduct with Azerbaijan not just as an educational activity, but also as part of the strategic rapprochement of the two states.”

Prof. Dr. Güngör: “We believe we will further deepen our 'one nation, two states' understanding”

Prof. Dr. Güngör stated that Üsküdar University currently carries out academic and educational collaborations with various universities in Azerbaijan, and that these collaborations produce concrete scientific and cultural outputs. She expressed that with the opening of the Baku Representative Office, these collaborations will be further strengthened, and significant contributions will be made to the human resources of both countries through joint projects. She added, “Every investment made in human capital is the most valuable investment for the future. In this context, we believe that our interaction in the field of education with Azerbaijan will further deepen our 'one nation, two states' understanding.”

A new level in academic relations…

Azerbaijani academics and education experts, speaking at the opening ceremony, also expressed their satisfaction with Üsküdar University opening a representative office in Baku, stating that this step will elevate academic relations between the two countries to a new level. Participants expressed their aim to develop much closer academic collaborations with Üsküdar University in the future.

The Representative Office facilitated access to higher education opportunities in Turkey… 

Üsküdar University Baku Representative Office aims not only to facilitate access for Azerbaijani youth to higher education opportunities in Turkey but also to establish the infrastructure for a stronger and more sustainable strategic cooperation in education, culture, and science between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
