Holiday Cheer in the Üsküdar University and NPİSTANBUL Family!

Üsküdar University and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi continued their holiday greeting tradition this year. Academic, expert, and administrative staff gathered at the online holiday greeting ceremony, held with the participation of Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan and Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör. As the enthusiasm of Eid al-Adha was shared digitally, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that Eid al-Adha is a step on the journey towards approaching the truth. Tarhan also noted that holidays build bridges between hearts.

The academic, expert, and administrative staff of Üsküdar University and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi experienced the holiday excitement.

The online holiday greeting ceremony, which was also broadcast live on YouTube, was attended by Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar University Board of Trustees Chairman A.Furkan Tarhan, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Sevil Atasoy, Prof. Dr. Hikmet Koçak, Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, along with Rector's Advisors, Deans, Directors, and faculty members.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: “Holidays become much more meaningful if they build bridges between hearts”

Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Chairman of the Executive Board Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan stated that Eid al-Adha is a step on the journey towards approaching the truth; “I wish everyone happy holidays. I hope we spend Eid al-Adha in a way that aligns with its meaning and beauty. Holidays become much more meaningful, especially if they build bridges between hearts. The word 'Kurban' (sacrifice) in Arabic means 'kurbiyet', which is to approach. Therefore, sacrificing has great significance in one's journey to approach the truth, the creator. If a person wants to approach the truth, they should donate and share. This behavior serves 'kurbiyet', or approaching, in the most beautiful way. In our belief system, holidays also serve as an opportunity to build bridges between hearts. Another important point is that holidays remind us of goodness and sharing. Most importantly, there is the famous saying 'old holidays'. In fact, we all say that phrase under the influence of our own childhood. That is, what makes holidays special are our childhood memories. People remember their childhood during holidays. These are the days when the most beautiful memories of our lives accumulate, which is why they are missed. When we say 'old holidays', what we mean is the emotional impact of our childhood memories. Therefore, children should be the ones made happiest this holiday. It is not necessary to buy expensive gifts for children; the best gift to give them is time spent with them. The more time we allocate to our loved ones and close ones, the more time we spend with them, the more we will have a holiday in accordance with the spirit of the holiday. This also brings us one step closer to the truth. I wish everyone happy holidays again.” he said.

Emphasizing that Üsküdar University is a large family, Üsküdar University Board of Trustees Chairman A. Furkan Tarhan stated; “We are a large family with nearly 2,500 members. I wish all our friends and faculty members, present or not, a peaceful and enjoyable holiday. I hope this holiday brings abundance and prosperity to our country, our families, and all of us.”

Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör shared the holiday excitement. Güngör said; “I wish all our academic and administrative staff, and all residents of Üsküdar, a happy holiday.
May it be a joyful, pleasant, and peaceful holiday. After the holiday, let us all return to our work with health and peace. Happy holidays.”

Director of Healthcare Institutions Fırat Tarhan: “I wish you a wonderful holiday with your loved ones”

TARHAN Foundation Board Member, NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi Executive Board Director of Healthcare Institutions Fırat Tarhan; “Happy holidays to everyone. As our professor said, I wish you a beautiful holiday filled with rest and spent with your loved ones. The hospital staff is working, and I wish ease for our friends there. They don't have much opportunity for holidays. On this occasion, I extend my holiday greetings to all healthcare workers and everyone on duty during the holiday, and wish them ease.” he said. 

During the holiday greeting ceremony, which saw strong participation and speeches from faculty deans, institute directors, and academic and administrative staff, family members shared their holiday wishes in a sincere atmosphere.
