Prof. Dr. Tahira Allahyarova, Member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Social Research Center and Head of the Internal Policy Analysis Department, visited Üsküdar University. Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Rector's Advisor and Director of Üsküdar University Human Values Education Application and Research Center (ÜDEMER) Prof. Dr. Sırrı Akbaba, and the accompanying delegation were present during the visit. A protocol was signed between the Azerbaijan Social Research Center and Üsküdar University within the scope of cooperation.
The meeting held at the Üsküdar University Main Campus Senate Hall was attended by Üsküdar University Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, Head of Corporate Communications Tahsin Aksu, Head of International Relations Peyman Jafari, Media PR Unit Manager Şaban Özdemir, Event Unit Manager Dağhan Rasim Işık, and Media Relations Specialist Ayşe Nur Akçelik İlgeç.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: ‘Our priority is to ensure cultural unity’
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan emphasized that the protocol signed within the scope of cooperation between the Azerbaijan Social Research Center and Üsküdar University is a goodwill agreement. Prof. Dr. Tarhan said; “'Tetkikat' means to study meticulously, to examine in depth. 'Tahkikat' means to conduct superficial research. In the Republic, we did everything from top to bottom. Aggressive Westernization was carried out in Turkey. When it's aggressive, society is one thing, and the top is another. These aggressive sociological events are alive, they develop over 500 years. They don't change suddenly like that. They change slowly, by assimilation. That's what sociological events are for. We could not produce our own model. That's why, currently, a fit individual is emerging in Turkey, thinking completely beyond modern norms. Giving importance to social research is very crucial. Society needs to catch up with the times while preserving its own values, and for this, it needs to conduct social research. This is the most important experience of social studies based on the expectations and needs of the public. Our primary priority is to ensure cultural unity in this world. Afterwards, it is to continue this in our own civilization's geography. These social and cultural researches are therefore very important. In the definition of psychology, culture is summarized in three words: mind, brain, and culture. Without culture, a person's mental health cannot be restored. A person without culture cannot maintain their mental health either. Because for the development of the qualities that make a human being, one must engage in social relationships.” he stated.

Prof. Dr. Tahira Allahyarova provided information about the Azerbaijan Social Research Center. Prof. Dr. Allahyarova stated; “The Research Center, together with the Presidency, presents the results of analyzing the facts in the country to the supreme governing body. However, we do not impose our proposals. What are the expectations? Based on these, we continuously prepare and present those reports, confidential and public documents. The President evaluates them. He relies on us in his public statements. That is, what is the state policy like? Is it correct? What are the expectations? What are the problems? It was established for this purpose. This is our twelfth partner. We have partners in China and Russia. I looked up Üsküdar University across Turkey on the internet. I saw that they are working at the forefront of global science. I said that the presence of very important research for the entire world makes us proud day by day. I am also confident that our signing of this protocol today will influence our future research and future colleagues in a greater direction. This is a beginning for the future between Üsküdar University and the Social Research Center. I am sure it will continuously accelerate in many other fields.” she said.
