Hosted by Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, a symposium titled 'A Holistic View on the Substance Addiction Process: Multidisciplinary Approaches' was organized. Academicians from Üsküdar University participated in the symposium and shared current scientific approaches related to their fields.

At the symposium held in the Farabi Conference Hall at the Büyükçekmece Campus of Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Cemal Onur Noyan, a faculty member from Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Mental Health and Diseases, Clinical Psychologist Cumali Aydın from NPİSTANBUL Hospital, and Research Assistant Beyzanur Dikmen Hoşbaş from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, participated.

Prof. Dr. Cemal Onur Noyan Explained the Neurobiology of Addiction
Prof. Dr. Cemal Onur Noyan, a faculty member from the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Mental Health and Diseases, discussed the biological foundations of the addiction process in light of scientific data in his presentation titled 'Neurobiology of Substance Addiction and Pharmacotherapeutic Approach'.

Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions in Addiction Were Discussed
Clinical Psychologist Cumali Aydın from NPİSTANBUL Hospital, with his presentation titled 'Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions and Relapse Management in Addiction', shared information on current therapy methods used in addiction treatment and the management of the relapse process.

The Importance of Exercise in the Rehabilitation Process Was Emphasized
Research Assistant Beyzanur Dikmen Hoşbaş from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, in her presentation titled 'Exercise Approaches in Addiction', emphasized the contribution of exercise to physical and psychosocial recovery in rehabilitation processes.
Multidisciplinary Approach to Substance Addiction
In the symposium, which featured contributions from academics from different disciplines, current scientific approaches to substance addiction, rehabilitation models, and holistic evaluation processes were discussed from a multidisciplinary perspective.
