World Health Organization Director, Green Crescent Science Board member Prof. Dr. Toker Ergüder, visited Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. Within the scope of the 'Smoke-Free Campus' project, carried out to create smoke-free air zones on campuses, raise awareness among students and protect them from cigarette smoke, efforts have been initiated to grant Üsküdar Üniversitesi the title of Smoke-Free University. Üsküdar Üniversitesi has thus taken the first step towards becoming a smoke-free university.

Üsküdar Üniversitesi has also joined the 'Smoke-Free Campus' project, accepted by the Ministry of Health and the Council of Higher Education in our country.

During the visit, which was also attended by Rector's Advisor Halide İncekara and Secretary General Selçuk Uysaler, Toker presented Tarhan with a Smoke-Free University t-shirt.
Prof. Dr. Toker Ergüder stated that Üsküdar Üniversitesi would be one of the smoke-free universities in Istanbul.
What Does the Smoke-Free Campus Aim For?
The 'Smoke-Free Campus' project, implemented to prevent passive smoking on university campuses, is being developed by the Young Green Crescent Community.
The project aims to raise awareness among staff and students regarding the use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and all other tobacco products, thereby reducing their consumption.
