In the conference moderated by Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, Director of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Human Rights Studies Application and Research Center (İHAMER) and faculty member of the Sociology Department, Dr. Özgür Aydın, faculty member of Akdeniz Üniversitesi Faculty of Law, Department of General Public Law, participated as a speaker. In the program where the foundations of discrimination were discussed in terms of human rights philosophy and positive regulations, Dr. Aydın focused on examples from the jurisprudence of AİHM and Anayasa Mahkemesi.

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Online Conference on 'The Principle of Equality and Prohibition of Discrimination Based on Human Rights' Held

Dr. Aydın stated that the prohibition of discrimination and the principle of equality are fundamental components of international human rights law and are important for the enjoyment and implementation of economic, social, and cultural rights.
Dr. Aydın also stated that Article 10 of the Constitution guarantees everyone the enjoyment of rights and freedoms without discrimination, and he mentioned the importance of TİHEK in combating discrimination.
At the end of the conference, issues related to legal and administrative struggle in cases of discrimination were evaluated based on students' questions.
