Orientation programs for students, held with the participation of Üsküdar University's academic and administrative staff, continue without slowing down. The orientation program for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the English Preparatory School was held with the participation of department heads and directors.
The orientation program for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the English Preparatory School, held in Nermin Tarhan Conference Hall, was completed with the participation of Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru, Assist. Prof. Dr. Baver Demircan, Foreign Languages Coordinator Lecturer Dilek Batur, and heads of departments.

Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asil Özdoğru said; “Dear esteemed lecturers, dear students, welcome to our 2022 – 2023 academic year orientation program. I would like to greet you with the regards of our Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özdemir. As we do every year, we aim to meet you through orientation programs, introduce our lecturers to you, and provide information about our university units. We congratulate you for overcoming the challenging university entrance exam and preparation process and joining us, and we wish you a successful and peaceful educational life for the next 4 years or more.”
Assist. Prof. Dr. Baver Demircan: “Everyone should frequently check the announcements section on our faculty's website.”
Emphasizing the importance of being aware of announcements, especially through the STİX application, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Assist. Prof. Dr. Baver Demircan said; “Before the 2022 – 2023 academic year, we completed all our preparations at the faculty level. With this academic year, we will conduct all our classes at the South Campus. All our lecturers' offices are in E block and B block of the South Campus. In accordance with the decision taken by YÖK this year, seventy percent of our classes will be face-to-face, and thirty percent will be online. We have made all our preparations accordingly. What I especially want to emphasize is that everyone should frequently check the announcements section on our faculty's website. We announce important announcements concerning you there. Also, as you know, we have the STİX application, which is the university's software. The STİX application is an application where teachers and students can communicate, and course materials are shared. Please regularly check your STİX application and your emails and log in.”
Assist. Prof. Dr. Hazal Ayas: “4 years is an opportunity for social development beyond academic growth.”
Emphasizing the importance for students to develop themselves socially, Head of Psychology Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Hazal Ayas said; “If you encounter any problems, please first contact the course lecturer, if you cannot find a solution, then the head of the department, and if you still cannot find a solution, you can contact the deanship. If you follow this order, I believe your problems and difficulties will be resolved easily. I wish you all an enjoyable and productive educational life. Leaving aside the lie that every age has its own beauty, I think the most beautiful period of human life is university life. Enjoy it to the fullest. Socialize extensively. These next 4 years are an opportunity to develop yourself socially, beyond academic growth. I wish you all a memorable university life.”

Prof. Dr. Selin Dimgillioğlu, Head of Sociology Department Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, Head of Philosophy Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Yazıcı, Head of History Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Uygar Aydemir, and Head of English Translation and Interpreting Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Nafi Yalçın contributed with their speeches regarding the 2022 – 2023 academic year.
Foreign Languages Coordinator Lecturer Dilek Batur: “Üsküdar University is an accredited school.”
Foreign Languages Coordinator Lecturer Dilek Batur delivered the opening speech of the English Preparatory School orientation program held at Üsküdar University Central Campus. Starting her words by emphasizing the importance of Üsküdar University being an accredited school, Dilek Batur said; “Üsküdar University is a school with international standards in this regard. When you graduate from the school and successfully complete the program, a certificate of achievement is given, which is therefore of great importance in your professional life.” Batur additionally emphasized that there is an 80% attendance requirement for the preparatory school and stated that she would present two books she had written to the students during the semester.
Department directorates also provided information to the students about their own directorates and the school's activities.
