Academic Collaboration Between Üsküdar Üniversitesi and Georgia State University

Üsküdar Üniversitesi, in line with its internationalization vision, has signed a significant academic collaboration with Georgia State University (GSU), one of the most prestigious universities in the United States. Within the scope of the signed protocol, a broad collaboration is targeted between the two universities, ranging from student and faculty exchange programs to dual degree applications, joint research, and international academic projects. 

Georgia State University (GSU), located in Atlanta, Georgia, is recognized among the most distinguished universities in the USA with its 7 campuses, over 50,000 students, and R1 category research capacity. GSU ranks first among US public universities in undergraduate education and is also the country's fifth fastest-growing research university. 

GSU- Üsküdar Collaboration Protocol Signed

Within the scope of the collaboration, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, and Georgia State University Health Management Research Academy Director, Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Serdar Aydın met.

Following the meetings, a collaboration protocol was signed between the two universities, laying the groundwork for academic and scientific cooperation.

New Opportunities for Students and Academics

Within the scope of the collaboration;  

•    Face-to-face and virtual student exchange programs,

•    Academic staff and student collaborations,

•    Joint research projects and scientific publications,

•    Academic experience sharing,

•    Cross-border capacity building initiatives are targeted.

Dual Degree Opportunity Between Two Universities…

Furthermore, a dual degree program is also on the agenda. With this program, students will be able to complete their first two years of education at Üsküdar Üniversitesi and their last two years at Georgia State University, thus gaining the right to receive diplomas from both universities. This way, students will benefit from the education systems of both Turkey and the USA.

Members of Üsküdar Üniversitesi will have the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct joint academic work within GSU. This strategic partnership aims to support not only individual achievements but also strong inter-institutional ties.

This collaboration, expected to make strong contributions to the internationalization processes of both institutions, is considered a significant step towards global engagement and joint innovation.
