Üsküdar Üniversitesi established the Science Communication Coordination Office to bring scientific developments to all segments of society. The Science Communication Coordination Office aims to explain scientific developments in a language everyone can understand, increase scientific awareness, and convey the university's academic knowledge to broad audiences. This step encourages the establishment of science communication offices in universities across Turkey, initiated under the leadership of the Council of Higher Education (Yükseköğretim Kurulu) and under the 'Science Homeland' umbrella.

Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör: “It is not enough to leave science only in academic publications”
Üsküdar Üniversitesi Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör spoke about the establishment of the Science Communication Coordination Office. Güngör stated; “It is not enough to leave science only in laboratories or academic publications. Universities should play a more active role in the connection science establishes with society. Our Science Communication Office offers a modern and strong response to this need.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Becan: “We want to make science understandable for everyone”
The Coordinator of Science Communication, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, Department of Advertising Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihan Becan stated the following regarding the importance of the coordination office; “Our aim is not only to explain science but also to arouse curiosity, provoke thought, and inspire. We want to make science understandable for everyone. Because, in our opinion, science multiplies as it is told, and deepens as it is shared.”
Key activities of the Science Communication Office…
Among the key activities of the Science Communication Office are;
- Public dissemination of research and projects carried out within the university,
- Increasing the visibility of scientific knowledge in traditional and digital channels through media collaborations,
- Development of science communication competencies of students and academics.
Established in line with Üsküdar Üniversitesi’s mission centered on “human, society, and science,” the Science Communication Coordination Office invites everyone who believes that science is not merely a field of expertise but a fundamental building block of social development to connect with science.
