Üsküdar Üniversitesi draws attention with its brand and patent studies

Brand and patent studies are among the primary outputs demonstrating the R&D and innovation power of institutions. Üsküdar Üniversitesi draws attention with its work both nationally and internationally, gaining increasing momentum. Üsküdar Üniversitesi has dozens of projects implemented in the areas of brand, design, and their registration, contributing to students' scientific work and providing consultancy and hosting for their applications.  

In this context, Üsküdar Üniversitesi, which adds a new achievement to its work every day, has registered 1 brand internationally under the name Uskudar University and 84 brands nationally. 

Üsküdar Üniversitesi has 70 patent applications nationally (Türk Patent), 7 of which have been registered by Türk Patent. Internationally, 3 out of 12 patent applications have been registered by the European Patent Office.
When patent applications are examined on a department-faculty basis: 
32 patents from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, 
9 patents from the Department of Midwifery, 
7 patents from the Department of Nursing, 
3 patents from the Department of Bioengineering, 
and 2 patents from the Department of Occupational Health and Safety have been filed. 

Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics ranked first in patent application performance

When looking at the department patent application performance of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, which has emphasized R&D studies since its establishment, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics ranks first. 

The Department of Midwifery comes in second for the most patent potential.

The content of filed or registered patent applications includes: 
Drug Molecules,
Genetic Therapy Solutions; Vaccines, Immunotherapy with artificial intelligence support - Health, Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Consulting Systems are prominent topics.

2nd place among foundation universities with 12 patent applications

The success of Üsküdar Üniversitesi, which prioritizes R&D efforts, was also registered with a share from Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. Varank stated in his announcement that according to TÜRKPATENT's statistics for the first 6 months of 2022, 14 universities were among the top 50 institutions applying for patents, and 333 patent and utility model applications were made by universities. He also highlighted that Üsküdar Üniversitesi ranked second among universities with the most patent applications, with 12 applications.
