Uskudar University Human Resources Department and the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Software Engineering, conducted a comprehensive three-week artificial intelligence training program for senior administrative staff within the scope of its digital transformation vision. The training covered fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, its application areas in universities, and various AI tools. Workshops held as part of the training focused on visualization and interpretation.
Uskudar's artificial intelligence vision highlighted
On the first day of the three-week training program held at the Central Campus Kuleli Hall, Üsküdar University Board of Trustees Chairman Furkan Tarhan discussed 'Corporate Big Data Management and Uskudar University's Artificial Intelligence Vision'. Tarhan emphasized the necessity of artificial intelligence technology in education and healthcare during this period.
Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel: “We aim to save you time”
Making significant remarks on artificial intelligence technology and algorithms, Uskudar University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, under the title 'Introduction to Artificial Intelligence', provided comprehensive information on what artificial intelligence is, why it is important, and its fundamental concepts.
In his speech, Ergüzel said, “Actually, here we aim for you to be able to process and utilize your data, and to save you time. Furthermore, I believe it will enable you to plan time management and work efficiently.”
Prof. Dr. Ergüzel also provided information about the NP-Model application and TMS therapy, for which Uskudar University and NPİSTANBUL Hospital have filed international patent applications.
Application areas of artificial intelligence in universities discussed
In the second part of the training, Software Engineering Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kaan İldiz, Uskudar University Head of Digital Technologies and Software Department and Corporate Big Data Coordinator Hüseyin Hakan Özdemir, and Head of Information Technologies Department Murat Gülşen explained the application areas of artificial intelligence in universities. Presentations, supported by corporate data management, data strategies, and exemplary applications within the university, were reinforced by needs analyses conducted with senior management.
Emphasis placed on visualization and interpretation
One of the significant parts of the training, which continued for 3 weeks and involved two separate groups, was the practical workshops. In the workshops where text, visual, video, and productivity-based artificial intelligence tools were introduced, participants had the opportunity to experience current techniques such as prompt engineering with ChatGPT. In tool-based studies, particular emphasis was placed on visualization and interpretation.

In the second week of the training, topics such as reporting, data visualization, and data analysis were covered. In the training sessions led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kaan İldiz, ways to obtain meaningful results from data were supported with practical examples. The training process, reinforced by workshops, concluded with a certificate ceremony.
The program, completed with the active participation of attendees, aimed to enhance the technological competencies of administrative staff in the university's digital transformation journey. Uskudar University aims to both increase corporate efficiency and integrate the digital equipment required by the era into its corporate structure through such training programs.
