The 20th annual congress organized by the Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), founded in 2013 and bringing together distinguished researchers in neuroscience, primarily from the USA, was held in Los Angeles, USA. The research team, led by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, attended the meeting, which was participated solely by researchers from Üsküdar Üniversitesi and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi from Turkey, and represented our country in two separate sessions titled "TMS in Neuropsychiatric Disorders - Novel Protocols and Applications" and "Neuromodulations Applications and Neurotechnology".
At the meeting attended by scientists from many parts of the world, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan gave a presentation titled "Theta Burst Stimulation as a Neuromodulation Tool". In his presentation, Tarhan shared the results of these applications with examples of current theta burst studies in brain stimulation, along with the use of TMS in psychiatry, neuromodulation techniques, ECT - TMS comparison, and the use of TMS in future treatment algorithms.
At the meeting, which was also followed by SBMT TV, Tarhan made evaluations for the TV in the context of the brain mapping society's work and new applications in the field of neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, and smart prediction models, as well as the strong research network provided by SBMT.
Prof. Dr. Nesrin Dilbaz from NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi, a member of the research team, shared the applications of deep TMS in treating ADHD and addiction and the results of these studies in her presentation titled "Deep TMS in treating ADHD and Addiction".
Respectively, Prof. Dr. Şermin Kesebir presented "A Predictive Variable for Neuromodulation: EEG", Prof Dr Barış Metin, "EEG and MRI Biomarkers in Neuropsychiatry",
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cemal Onur Noyan presented "Neuromodulation Applications for Anxiety Disorders", and "TMS Treatment of OCD"
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Türker Ergüzel also shared the AI-supported disease classification and treatment outcome prediction application, which was put into practice with the support of Üsküdar Üniversitesi's BAP funding, with his presentation titled "CNN Based Neuromodulation Treatment Response Prediction".
The presentations made by academics from Üsküdar Üniversitesi and NPİSTANBUL Hastanesi from Turkey attracted intense interest from researchers.

In the program held in the shadow of the painful earthquake in Turkey, the organizers showed their solidarity with Turkey's pain through a video they prepared.
SBMT President Dr. Vicky Yamamoto and Chairman of the Board Dr. Babak Kateb showed the prepared video to all participants at the gala night.
Stating that it is very important and valuable for the countries of the world to share Turkey's pain, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan conveyed his thanks to the participants.
While Üsküdar Üniversitesi is preparing to host the 18th Baci Congress (https://baci-conference2023.com/) to be held in Istanbul between September 3-7, 2023, Prof. Dr. Maheen Adamson from Stanford University and Paul Thompson, director of Enhancing Neuro Imaging Genetics through Meta-Analysis (ENIGMA), who will attend the congress, also received information from Prof. Tarhan regarding the studies conducted at Üsküdar Üniversitesi during the meeting.
