Üsküdar medical graduates in strong and qualified roles worldwide…

Dr. Perihan Beyza Yıldırım, one of the 2025 graduates of Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, continued her professional journey in child and adolescent psychiatry in Switzerland, achieving a significant success.

She initiated the application process in Switzerland even before graduating
Dr. Perihan Beyza Yıldırım, who shaped her career goals on an international scale during her medical education, applied to healthcare institutions in Switzerland without waiting for her graduation. After the job interviews, Yıldırım received positive feedback and obtained the opportunity to work in child and adolescent psychiatry immediately after her graduation.
Dr. Yıldırım’s story not only represents a post-graduation job start but also demonstrated that planned, determined, and goal-oriented efforts made during student years can yield results at an international level.
She continued her clinical work during the equivalency process
Dr. Yıldırım, who did not interrupt her clinical practice while awaiting the completion of the equivalency process, served as an 'Unterassistent' for approximately five months, starting from September 2025, at the child and adolescent psychiatry outpatient clinic within Psychiatrische Dienste Graubünden, operating in Switzerland’s Graubünden canton.
During this period, Yıldırım actively participated in the assessment, consultation, and follow-up processes of numerous child and adolescent patients and had the opportunity to deepen her clinical experience. She later continued her work in acute child and adolescent psychiatry by serving in the closed emergency adolescent ward.
Following the completion of the equivalency process in June 2026, she officially began her role as a resident doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry at the same institution.
She is working at a significant center in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry
Psychiatrische Dienste Graubünden, where Dr. Perihan Beyza Yıldırım works, is among the institutions with a significant service network in child and adolescent psychiatry in eastern Switzerland. The institution, which offers outpatient, acute, and comprehensive psychiatric care services for children, adolescents, and families on a regional scale, stands out with its high clinical standards and multidisciplinary working culture.
Yıldırım’s involvement in such a comprehensive healthcare structure is considered a significant step for both her clinical development and international professional journey.
Üsküdar’s expertise in psychiatry guided her career
Üsküdar University’s strong academic and institutional identity, particularly in psychiatry and mental health, was one of the decisive factors in Dr. Yıldırım’s professional orientation.
Throughout her medical education, Yıldırım not only developed her clinical knowledge and skills but also gained a holistic, family-centered perspective in mental health that aims for long-term well-being.
Switzerland’s structured training opportunities in child and adolescent psychiatry, high clinical standards, and the importance it places on child mental health also influenced her career choice.
Üsküdar University graduates are also actively involved internationally…
While Germany often stands out in the overseas plans of doctors graduating from Turkey, Dr. Perihan Beyza Yıldırım’s choice to build her career in Switzerland makes this success story particularly unique.
Her starting the overseas application process even before completing her graduation, being accepted in a short period, taking on active clinical responsibility during the equivalency process, and subsequently starting her role as a resident doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry; stands out as a strong example of determination, academic accumulation, and goal-oriented progress.
Dr. Perihan Beyza Yıldırım’s success story, while demonstrating that the first graduates of Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine can take qualified and ambitious career steps not only in Turkey but also in international healthcare systems, once again reveals that the physicians trained by Üsküdar University are strongly represented worldwide.
