The accreditation certificates for the Radio Television and Cinema and Public Relations and Publicity departments of Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication, which were accredited for 5 years by the Communication Research Association (İLAD), were presented to the department heads at a ceremony.
The ceremony held at Üsküdar University Central Campus Senate Hall was attended by İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz, İLEDAK President Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun, İLAD General Secretary Füsun Özbilgen, Üsküdar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör, Üsküdar University Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Faculty of Communication Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahar Muratoğlu Pehlivan, Head of Radio Television and Cinema Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esennur Sirer, Head of Public Relations and Publicity Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge Uğurlu, along with faculty members and research assistants from the accredited departments.
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "We prioritize quality and accreditation processes..."
Speaking at the ceremony, Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, mentioned that Üsküdar University places special importance on quality and accreditation processes. Prof. Dr. Tarhan said; "An important marathon has ended. I would also like to learn the experiences and observations that our professors will share with us during this process."
Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör: "Our professors worked with a very good team"
Delivering the opening speech of the certificate ceremony, Üsküdar University Rector Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör emphasized that quality-oriented studies were carried out in the accreditation process as the Faculty of Communication. Güngör said; "I hope that in many years to come, we will see our other departments also getting accredited. All our professors worked with a very good team."
Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz: "Five-year accreditation was obtained for both of your departments, which is a significant achievement"
İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz underlined that the importance given to İLAD accreditation is very significant and that this success also developed them during the process. Aziz said; "You have supported and showed diligence in the accreditation process we started in 2018 from the very beginning, which was truly motivating for us. While we are equal, as İLAD, we have also developed in the past six years. There have been developments in the faculties and programs we accredited and those that applied to us. Five-year accreditation was obtained for both of your departments. This is an extremely important achievement. Because, over time, the areas open for improvement that we had previously identified have been completed. Today is the happiest I have been among all the accreditations I have given so far. I hope this success will continue."
Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun: "I witnessed here that it was carried out with dedication..."
İLEDAK President Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun underlined that Üsküdar University carried out a very successful teamwork during the accreditation process and that this success was achieved through voluntarism. Tayfun said; "I also witnessed here how the processes were carried out with dedication. Whatever was requested, both academically and administratively, was fulfilled in a very reasonable, practical, and satisfactory manner. It was an extremely important experience for me too. For those who apply with an accreditation invitation to university programs and for those who carry out these processes as evaluators, there is a very important concept: voluntarism. It is a very valuable concept. It requires cooperation with voluntarism, and we experienced this cooperation abundantly here. I say this as a response to the experience we have had in many universities regarding the process. Üsküdar University truly has great potential, especially in fulfilling the requests we collaborate on and implementing them in the field."
İLAD General Secretary Füsun Özbilgen: "The quality journey is a never-ending journey"
İLAD General Secretary Füsun Özbilgen stated that the accreditation journey is a very beautiful process that will continue to develop. Özbilgen said; "We are at one stage of the quality journey here. It started with the support of the Dean of Communication. Passing step by step in this quality journey, İLAD received this authority in 2018. It has been such a beautiful journey. During this process, we saw that the faculties quickly reviewed themselves. Faculties undertake this work because they want to develop their programs. We have also developed ourselves. We continue to develop. The quality journey is a never-ending journey."

At the certificate ceremony, İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz presented the accreditation certificate to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esennur Sirer, Head of the Radio Television and Cinema Department, and to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge Uğurlu, Head of the Public Relations and Publicity Department.
