The “Patient Relative Support Meeting”, regularly held every month at the Kadıköy branch of the Turkish Alzheimer's Association by Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan from the Üsküdar University Institute of Social Sciences, was held this month at Nural Köşkü in Göztepe, the association's new branch.

At the event, where psychoeducation on Alzheimer's Disease was provided to patient relatives, the difficulties experienced by caregivers and how the processes can be managed based on stages were also discussed.
Also, at the meeting where experiences were shared, Lecturer İdil Arasan Doğan emphasized that the real decision-makers in Alzheimer's disease are the patient's relatives, stating: “Communication with the patient and the relationship established in this context determine how the disease process will be experienced.”
Doğan pointed out that patient relatives left the event, where they expressed themselves saying 'We are exhausted,' by saying 'We are not alone, there are people who understand us,' and the meeting concluded with wishes for the continuation of such events and good intentions.
